Proceeds from Faith Unscripted benefit The Gospel Complex for Education and Preservation, which is being built in Lauderhill, Florida. The first of its kind in the country, the multifaceted Gospel Complex will not only house the rich history of Gospel music but will also serve as an educational facility providing opportunities for aspiring artists, established artists and anyone with an interest in the Gospel music industry. The Gospel Complex has established partnerships with The State of Florida, Broward County Public Schools, Nova Southeastern University, and Florida Memorial University. Faith Unscripted II, the second in the Sunrise Music Group series of totally unscripted and unrehearsed CD/DVD releases, will kick off the official capital campaign for The Gospel Complex with a nationally televised HDTV special to be broadcast in May.

“We are thrilled by the opportunity to partner with the Gospel Music Association and Sunrise Music Group on the Faith Unscripted II project. This unique venture will bring greater awareness about The Gospel Complex development to the entire Gospel Music community and the world,” said Albert A. Tucker, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau Project Liaison. “It’s a wonderful project that will not only raise funds for The Gospel Complex but will also showcase this truly American genre of music.”

The live concert taping comes during a week where top artists and industry leaders from every style of gospel music come together in Nashville for the annual GMA Music Week convention and it follows gospel music biggest night of the year, the GMA Dove Awards. While Faith Unscripted will be free to the public, tickets will be required due to limited seating.

“With the possibility that some of the participating artists will have received Dove Awards the night before, the Faith Unscripted concert event should bring a rousing and joyous end to GMA Music Week,” said John W. Styll, president and CEO of the GMA, the trade organization which serves as the face and voice for the Christian/Gospel music community and is dedicated to exposing, promoting and celebrating the gospel through music of all styles. “The GMA also stands in support of the new Gospel Complex. Much like the future GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame planned for Nashville, the complex will be another messenger of the good news that is gospel music.”

“It is an honor for our project to be utilized in such a wonderful way” says Producer/Director Robert Swope of Sunrise, “We believe the time has come to immortalize Gospel music so that every child in the future will know how and why this unique genre of music evolved, and the impact it has had on every other genre of current music.” Multiple Grammy, Emmy and Stellar nominated producer Swope plans to film Faith Unscripted II in high definition with 5.1 surround sound in the same manner as the first in the series Faith Unscripted which hit the streets last September.

Faith Unscripted I, in stores now and scheduled for television broadcast on the Gospel Music Channel as part of the network’s special Black History Month programming, brought together the amazing voices of Karen Clark Sheard, Tye Tribbett. Joe Ligon, Micah Stampley, Vanessa Bell-Armstrong, Dr. Bobby Jones and over 60 others to create the unrivaled “churchin” party that has received tremendous accolades over the past 3 months. Faith Unscripted II takes it to an entirely new level. “We are inviting the top 100 Gospel artists to join us on this release, which should be over the top! The Gospel Complex needs to be built, and we are thrilled to help it with Faith Unscripted, “ says Swope. The Faith Unscripted series is distributed by Central South Distribution.
